Hamburg, 27.02.2024 - AviaCert GmbH was founded on February 19, 2014 by lawyer Hendrik Schorcht as an independent consulting company in the aviation sector. The company can now look back on a decade full of exciting projects, adventures, growth and joint successes.
Since its foundation in 2014, the AviaCert team, consisting of lawyers, engineers, mathematicians, pilots and administrative staff, has grown continuously. The initial three employees have now grown to almost 20, who contribute their specific expertise to a variety of challenging projects at the company's two locations in Mecklenburg and Hamburg.
From the very beginning, the company's core competencies have been in the areas of aviation law, compliance and flight operational safety. On behalf of authorities, companies and institutions, AviaCert checks compliance with aviation law requirements, develops customized strategies in the event of deviations to ensure safe flight operations, provides training and supports certification and approval procedures. Over the past decade, AviaCert has successfully carried out numerous national and international projects in these areas with airports and air navigation service providers, aviation authorities, universities and other organizations.
The Managing Director of AviaCert GmbH himself looks back on the first decade of his company with great pleasure, but also knows that the challenges in the future will not diminish.
"For us, the shortage of skilled workers has been a core problem for some time now and unfortunately has also become a direct brake on growth. The expertise we need to develop solutions for our clients in a highly complex regulatory system, optimize processes, digitalize procedures or, for example, carry out flight operational risk assessments and, above all, ensure safe flight operations, requires highly qualified graduates with great enthusiasm for aviation. Finding them at all and then training them comprehensively in-house to become the specialists that we need in our team and, ultimately, that our clients need, ties up immense resources.
When asked what customers value most about AviaCert, Schorcht points to several decisive factors: "Comprehensive technical expertise with many years of experience, creativity and innovation in the development of solutions, a comprehensive network, efficiency and resource awareness, but always also the neutrality and independence and thus the reliability of our statements and recommendations."
For Schorcht, the answer to the question of what is most important to him in the company is simple. The team. "AviaCert was founded because I wanted to do something different. Or rather, I wanted to do it differently. I wanted and still want to create a space where highly focused colleagues can work in a creative environment, where young colleagues can develop and flourish, where they are given responsibility. Where you can not only manage projects efficiently with short decision-making paths, but also ensure a good working atmosphere with changing work and life models, including family compatibility. The opportunity to create and continue to shape such framework conditions - with all the mistakes that can and of course have been made - has been crucial for me."
